Body Painting

For my performance I painted my arms and legs with layers of acrylic paint. Eventually I ended up doing different designs because it was more interesting than just another solid color. After a few layers and hours the paint got crackly on my skin and felt absolutely disgusting, also I was in a tank top in shorts and was thoroughly freezing. And as I reasearched online after I was done my performance, acrylic paint is a skin irritant and also toxic. I probably should've researched that before I did this. Needless to say by the end of it, I was extraordinarily itchy, had broken out in hives, felt incredibly nauseous (which lasted a few days) and very uncomfortable. Even after showering several times I still had a tint to my skin. Needless to say, it was certainly an endurance.

Also thanks to Beth Antes for taking the photographs.

Body Paint

For 6 hours starting on Sunday, February 7 from 12-6 in my dorm I will paint my body (I will be wearing shorts and a tank top) with acrylic paint. I will paint as much of my body as I can, one layer of paint each hour. I will have to endure the feeling of the layers of cracking paint on my body over the hours. (As well as various stares from people on my floor should I need to leave at any point)

A Walk Down the Dorm Hall

This video/sound piece is a mixture of sounds that tells a story about walking down the hallway and investigating what was behind different doors.

A Personal Record of Time

I decided to document my day in temperatures. Temperature is a good way to tell time because in the morning the temps are lower and around mid-day the temps reach its high. And as it becomes night the temps drop back down again. I documented the temperature every couple hours throughout the day. The temps in farenheit were:
