Performance Piece

Laying on the floor for three hours with ultimately thirteen bricks on top of my body was a really personally refining moment. The secrets, confessions, and stressors that symbolically weighed me down had an obvious impact on me, but I also feel like on those walking by and reading the statements that created this weight.

My Claim for my performance piece

I Erin Stahler will lay on the floor in Harder Hall near Moka Joka for 3 hours on my back while viewers can walk by and write a stress or a weight they need lifted off onto a piece of paper and rubberband it to a brick. They will then place the brick somwhere on my body so i can hold the weight of their struggles.

Kinetic project

This is a video of our Kinetic project for time class. in this video you can see how we used our motor to spin a dowel with circles on it.
This combination created something very interesting. We attached yarn to the outside of the circles in order to make them look like a worm.
One thing that we explored through this project was dealing with something that people do not normally see. By creating the motion in
the box, below grown we transfer the idea of where most motion occurs. One thing that I was happy with was that the audience got the
message we were trying to convey. In addition they came up with a few ideas of their own that we did not think of.
